The higher grade planes from Stanley are the Sweet-Heart series. They are pre drilled l and you shape them yourself. I don’t know what I will do I bought the Bailey Jack Plane #5 after doing a fair amount of research.
I was rather hoping the "Made in England" meant this was some grade in between contractor and the Sweet-Heart. I bought the plane at Rockler sharpened the iron and was having great success joining a radius front cabinet rail I had laminated. It seems like it was the best option and combination of quality and price.

If you find the old version of number 5 (with wooden handles) in good condition, you would probably be much more satisfied.
Also the no 5 1/2 Jack(broader by 3/8 inch, slightly longer and heavier, but regrettfully discontinued) should be considered.
